Vineyard sits on the eastern shore of Utah Lake in central Utah County, bordered by Orem to the east, Lindon to the north, and the lake itself to the west. The city’s modern story is one of the most dramatic transformations in Utah history: for decades, this was the site of the Geneva Steel mill — the massive World War II-era integrated steel production facility that operated from 1944 until 2002 and shaped the local economy and skyline for nearly six decades.
